Escape from the digital world.

I have a complicated relationship with technology. It's given me access to endless information, increased my music collection exponentially, and allowed my comic to be read by real people who are not myself (at least I think they're real people). If I don't pay attention, however, I waste countless hours searching for things like "Prince song + karaoke + epic fail" and "cute toy poodles." So I drew this comic to remind me to get outside more often.

Also: I've added a Poster Shop page to my blog! You can purchase an 11"x17" poster of this comic and many others for a very modest price. Click on the "Poster Shop" tab at the top of the screen, or go here:

  3. Am I the only one who found the 'blow up your blog' panel incredibly ironic? :P

  4. Hey Grant, I was just reading some of these comics of yours and felt compelled to ask if you've ever done illustrations for any childrens books? I remember seeing a game book of some kind with cartoons drawn in this style many years back.

I really love your style by the way. It speaks to the kid in me that's been asleep for a while now.

  6. Max: I fully understand the irony of this comic. I'm addicted to technology, but every once in awhile I try to kick the habit.

Ray: Thank you, that's pretty much the greatest compliment ever. I've never illustrated a children's book, but I hope to write and draw one eventually. Looking forward to the challenge.

    Angel: I appreciate the confirmation!

  7. I´m a real person. Or at least I think I am. I left facebook about two months ago and it was hard. But now I have more time to see fantastic stuff strangers like you do, instead of reading meaningless status updates.

  8. I work for a technology recruitment firm and have to use it every day. When I am at home, I want nothing to do with it. It's a catch-22. It's a necessary evil these days and your comic made me burst out laughing when I should be working so thank you!

  10. What can we do when we have many boring free time? How about try to get access to the online games? When we talk about the

game, we need to talk about the WOW Gold. As the WOW is the world's most famous online

game, all of us knows that we have to get the Cheap RS Gold to save money !

  11. I just wanted to share that I've struggled with this for years. I have a BS and MS in computer science and have been programming for over 15 years, but as the years progress, I grow more and more apathetic to technology. I really miss the simpler life... and I shudder when someone says "tweeted". Sometimes I feel like we really are headed for Mike Judge's Idiocracy. Last month's internet news feels like a decade ago.

I've always admired Dijkstra for migrating to a typewriter and then a fountain pen for most of his research papers. I find myself writing/mailing letters now, working more on my car/house, and using my cellphone as more of a portable answering machine these days.

Thank you very much for this comic; as you can tell it really speaks to me. I will buy a print.

And it's taken me 5 Captcha tries and signing up for Blogger to post this comment :/
